TGIF! Weekend is near! =P

TGIF! Thank God its Friday today!!!!

Hahah, I guess Friday is often a favorite day for most of the working class. When Friday arrives, one will be able to look forward to the approaching weekend. A weekend with no need for work… A weekend to spend quality time with loved ones… =D

Hahah, as you can guess, I am now in pre-advanced weekend mood. I have some activities scheduled for this coming weekend. I will be going back to my new house to survey the progress of the renovation works (now to think about it, I ¬†have not updated the renovation process for quite some time… =X) and¬†going to the saloon to pamper my hair tomorrow. I guess these 2 activities will take up most of the day. Hmmm, maybe going for a buffet dinner in the evening with my hubby…

Sunday will be a shopping day for me¬†and my hubby aka my personal credit card.¬†Hahah. I am actually quite excited over this as I will be having a new kitchen toy to play with soon. We will be sourcing for a bread maker!!! We will go¬†around to check the prices and functions of the bread maker before we decide on buying which brand. I can’t wait to test out the recipes that I have come across from the various websites. =P

How about you? How will you be spending your weekend? =)

Have a nice and merry weekend to all! =)

Scary or Reassuring? Friend or Foe?

The subject title for this post is often a question that I have asked myself after every encounter. There were¬†times whereby I was really frightened of “THEM” (this is the term that I refer to the spirits and ghosts) and I could sense the tension in the atmosphere. However, there are also times whereby I was actually comforted by them. Yes, comforted… as if they¬†know how I feel at a particular moment!

As per my previous write-ups, most of my encounters had taken place in Center “C”. Center “C” is a short building with only 3 levels. We were operating at the 2nd and 3rd levels.

At that time, the company that I have worked in did offer certain IT professional examination. The candidate would need to register, make payment and book an exam slot online via a particular IT website. Once these steps had been done, my company would receive notification that “so and so” would be coming to Center “C” to take a particular IT professional examination. Once the candidate arrived, he or she would be brought to a small room with only 2 computers (lets call this room as the “examination room”).

While the candidate was attempting the examination with one of the computers, one of us will be located at a nearby small room (lets call this room as “invigilation room”) doing our invigilation duties. A security camera was installed in the examination room and it was linked to a computer in the invigilation room. The staff on duty would carry out the invigilation duties via the computer in the invigilation room.

One of the stories that I have heard was that one of my ex-colleague was doing her invigilation duty in the invigilation room. There were a total of 2 candidates doing 2 different types of IT examinations in the examination room. She was doing her invigilation when out of sudden, she saw a lady in white standing in between the 2 candidates in the examination room. This lady’s back was facing the security camera. My colleague quickly went over to the examination room (just 2 to 4 steps away from the invigilation room) with the intention of questioning this lady why she had entered the examination room without permission.

As my colleague entered the examination room, to her surprise, there was no sign of the lady in white in this room! Both the candidates were attempting their examination. Should the lady had left the room, my colleague would sure to be able to see her! One thing to note here was that my colleague realized that the temperature in the room was extremely cold for a while!

My colleague went back to her invigilation room to replay the security tape again. She was very certain that she had seen a lady in white in the examination room! To her dismay, when she replayed the tape, there was no sign of the lady in white!¬†This was really a big mystery to most of us! My colleagues¬†had actually attempted to replay the tape also. None of them¬†had seen the lady in white. As my colleagues know that I am quite “sensitive” towards this area, they had attempted to keep mum of this incident in front of me… -_-|||

As secrets can’t be kept forever, soon, I came to know about this incident.I was at first filled with dread whenever it was my turn to do the invigilation. I would open the door of the invigilation room (My theory was that should there be any encounter, I could escape¬†fast. =X). After a few rounds of invigilation, this incident was then slowly being forgotten… My habit of keeping the invigilation door opened remained…

I recalled that I had just broken off with my 2nd ex-boyfriend at that period. I was feeling quite miserable. To make things worse, he was working in the same company as me… just that he was working at Center “P”. Occasionally, he will need to pop by at Center “C”. In order to avoid him, I had volunteered to do the invigilation instead. There was only one candidate registered on during that slot.

Once the candidate had reached, I had shown him to the examination room for him to begin his examination. I then retreated to the invigilation room. I started to recall what my colleague had informed me earlier. She had saw my ex-boyfriend shopping with another lady when we were still in a relationship. This was too much for me to take in at that moment! I was feeling very devastated! My pride was also being trampled on!

One thing led to another… Soon, I started to recall from the memories of the so-called honeymoon period to how¬†the relationship ended. Tears started to flow down from my eyes. The built up tension in me after the breakup was too much for me to bear! I was so engrossed in my misery that for the first time in my life, I had actually not able to sense the subtle change in the atmosphere!

It was then I heard, well, let’s call it a song… It was definitely not noise… It sounded as if someone was singing… However, although this song sounded loud and near to me, I was unable to make up the lyrics. The melody was very smoothing.¬†I raised up my tear-streaked face and started to pay attention to this song. I closed my eyes¬†and shut down my brain cells. I allowed this song and its “lyrics” to engulf¬†me and¬†seek solace in it.¬†I did not know why but somehow, I was¬†comforted by this song.

This song had lasted for around five minutes. By the end of the five minutes, I was feeling calmer and very much¬†at peace with myself. This was when the song started to fade off gradually… I ran out of the invigilation room to check who was the one¬†singing. However, there was not a single soul along the corridor. I went back to the invigilation room. The candidate was still busy attempting his examination. However, I did notice then that there was a slight drop in the temperature of the invigilation room (I had not adjusted the temperature of the air conditioner at all!).

“Its THEM!” I thought to myself.

“Thank you!” I called out loud in the room, showing my appreciation to “them”.

To my surprise, I heard some fading strains of the song then. I smiled. I knew that “they” were encouraging me to be brave and look forward. No point crying over spilled milk now. A very warmth feeling surrounded me…

This incident has, indeed, made¬†some¬†impact on my life. I am¬†able to pick up bits and pieces and continue¬†on¬†with my life. I no longer trying to put up a brave front in front of my colleagues whenever the topic of my failed relationship was touched on accidentally. I had accepted that he was my past and¬†I no longer avoided him when he popped by at Center “C”. Most importantly, I have learnt to let go.

Another paranormal encounter

This was another encounter when both my colleague and I had¬†been scheduled to work in the afternoon shift. After my last encounter (please see “2nd paranormal encounter”), whenever I had been scheduled to work in the afternoon shift, I will make sure that either my colleague on duty or myself to go up to the 3rd level to close all the unused classrooms before 8pm when there were still many people around.

I recalled that we had managed to lock Level 2 right wing and the whole of Level 3 quite early that night. We decided to book and share a cab home since our intention was to stay work overtime. We were in our office (located at Level 2, left wing), trying to clear as much work as possible while waiting for our cab to arrive. It was a very peaceful time when out of sudden, I heard some chain-like sound.

At first, I thought that I was dreaming or hallucinating. I paused for a while, paying full attention to my surrounding! I was not dreaming! Neither am I hallucinating! The sound sounded as if someone was trying to lock or unlock the lock at Level 3 impatiently (the main glass door of Level 3 was locked up with a chain and a lock). I looked at my colleague and it seemed that she had also heard the sound.

We communicated to one another in silence and we looked out from¬†our office ‘s glass door to see if there was any one at the Level 3 main door (A fleet of stairs, leading to Level 3 main door, was located just next to my office).¬†To our dismay, there was no people there! The moment we had looked out to check on the Level 3 main door, the sound stopped and vice versa!

Okay.. this is really spooky! “Not again?” I groaned to myself. I told myself that since we were at Level 2, it should be fine…¬†My colleague started to crack some jokes to liven the atmosphere. We started to pack our things at the same time.

Out of sudden, the sound from Level 3 stopped. What caught me totally unaware was the spooky sound coming from the left corridor of our office! This sound was at first quite soft. I was quite unsure what I had heard at first. The sound started to get louder and louder. This was when I had this creepy, pickling sensation! I knew then something was definitely not right!

I was then able to hear the sound clearly. It sounded as if someone who was wearing those type of army boots walking heavily and loudly along the corridor, echoing the sound of heavy and loud footsteps. Apart from this, it sounded as if that someone was in chains and was dragging the chains while walking!!! Prisoner-of-war?!?!?!

My God!!! I looked up frantically at my colleague! She was still busy packing her things. From her body language, I knew that she had not heard the sound at all! I freaked out when the sound came nearer and nearer to our office (my table was located the nearest to the corridor)! I told or rather, shouted, to my colleague that it was time to go home! I grabbed my bag, off the lights (the switch was just next to my table) and dashed to the office door with my colleague!

The moment my colleague locked the office door, we made a dash down the fleet of stairs to the ground level! It was then my colleague asked me what happened. She had grabbed her bag and was ready to go off the moment I told her it was time to go home. I told her what I had heard and the creepy sensation that I had felt when the sound became louder and nearer to the both of us! She had confirmed that she had not heard the sound of the chained footsteps, just as I had expected!

From that day onwards, we did not dare to stay back late in office any more!

Review of 2014 Halloween Horror Nights 4 (HHN4) At Resort World Sentosa

This was my very first time attending a Halloween event. Thus, I did not really know what to expect for when my hubby and I had reached the Universal Studio Singapore (USS) for the HHN4 event. Although 01 November marked the last day of HHN4, it was still packed with a lot of visitors, waiting to enter the park and had fun in the HHN4 event.

There were¬†mini carts selling little “devil’s like horn” hair band (which could be lighted up), lighted scientific sword like rods and more. A¬†corner had been catered for those who would like to get their face painted in the Halloween theme. Some of the USS staff were already dressed and “make-up” for the Halloween theme. You could see them running about, trying to get all the excited visitors (hahah, including us) to queue and get ready to enter the park. This was when we had met our friends coincidentally. We had then decided to form a team impromptu and go in together.

Our team was¬†consisted with a mixture of first timers (like both my hubby and me) and seasoned supporters¬†(for those have attended all HHN events¬†without fail). Hahah, we started off entering the park with a seasoned “leader” in front, leading us and another seasoned one at the back. All the first timers will be “well protected” in the middle of the team.

Upon attending the park, we had to wait and watch how the story line progresses. This was portrayed through via a performance. It seemed that a political figure had been assassinated and he had risen up to become the Minister of Evil, creating havoc and chaos through the 4 houses and 4 scare zones. To give some credit, this performance, coupled with the musical and lightning effects, had indeed, raised the excitement and anticipation to the maximum. The only complaint that I would have is that it is too crowded and we were unable to hear and watch the progress of the story line clearly.

Once the performance had ended, we were then allowed to roam about freely in the park, choosing to go to which house or scare zone. Canyon of the Cursed, was the nearest attraction near to the entrance. However, we had given it a miss as there were too many people queuing for it, waiting for the designated time to view the show for this scare zone.

Jacks’ 3 Dementia

Next, we had come to the nearest house, Jacks’ 3 Dementia. The queue was¬†super long, winding into a few long rows. It was actually quite exhausting to be in the queue for at least 30¬†minutes. We were perspiring madly with sweat and tired with the long minutes of standing in the queue.¬†When was¬†our turn, we took a 3D spectacles each, helping one another to put on this spectacles before entering the entrance.

WoW! This was my first thought when I entered this attraction. I was quite impressed with the decoration. It was quite colorful and with the help of the lightnings effect, it seemed that I was at another dimension. This was also when I was caught unaware by one of the sinister looking clowns! My god! He had been hiding in one of the dimmed corner all along! Seizing the fact that I was paying attention to the colorful environment, he had taken the opportunity to step into the light and scare me! I have become his prey!  -_-|||

I was scared out of my wits! I screamed and quivered with fear for a moment. Hahah. My friend, who is behind me, has been shocked by my screams rather than the clown. My hubby has decided to hold my hand and lead me as we ventured further in. Although my hubby had pointed out the possibilities of where the clowns might be hiding along the way, I was still caught unaware by these clowns for a few times. I guess, my brain was not fully functioning at that time to register what my hubby’s pointers… I remembered staring at one of the clowns with a pair of almost watery eyes. From the way his foot had been stepped out, I guess he wanted to scare me as well. Well, I guess he had later decided not to as I was too frightened. Hahah¬†=P

When we were about to near the exit, we would need to walk pass a bridge in a very bright, colorful and rotating environment. It was as if we were walking through a bridge in a kaleidoscope. This was also where that I almost given up! Why? This was because when I was crossing the bridge, I was unable to conquer my own fear. I was paralyzed with fear ( I suspect) and felt giddy. I have had this scary feeling that I would fall off the bridge if I were to continue to walk to the opposite side. In the end, my hubby had to practically drag me out!  =X

You can imagine my relief when I was out of this house… Hahah

Bogeyman

The next attraction that we had gone to was one of the scare zones,¬†Bogeyman. There was not much people here and thus, we were able to get in to this scare zone fast. Of cos, after the first episode, ¬†my hubby had told me that the “ghosts” would aim me and take the opportunity to scare me if¬†I looked frightened. I would need to look at¬†their face. In this way, they would know that I know where¬†they were¬†hiding and they would not be able to scare me even if they attempted to do so.¬†Hearing this sound advice,¬†I had told myself to conquer my fears!

Off we go. For this scare zone, it was not really as fantastic as the Jack’s 3 Dementia. It was decorated with many rags, hanging in the ceilings. There were many¬†cages and beds around. The “ghosts’ would either be in the cages, or sitting on the beds or hiding in some dimmed corners, waiting for an opportunity to scare us. My hubby had practically pointed out all the locations where they were hiding or located at.

Following my hubby’s instructions, I forced myself to¬†look¬†at¬†or stare into the face of most of the “ghosts”. They were all heavily carrying a very heavy and gruesome makeup. True enough, they had left me alone. I was feeling so accomplished and ya ya when I was out of this scare zone.¬†Hahah =P

Jing’s Revenge

We had passed by¬†Demoncracy. This is another scare zone which has a few scheduled shows. In order not to waste time, we had given this a miss as well and proceed straight on to Jing’s Revenge. Jing’s Revenge¬†was the 2nd house that we would be going. When we reached there, oh my, the queue was even worse off than the queue that we had queue for Jack’s 3 Dementia! While queuing, we could hear that the show for Demoncracy has started (Demoncracy is just located next to Jing’s Revenge).

We queued for about 45 minutes or more before it¬†was¬†our turn to enter the house. My God! I could feel the eerie effect that this house portrayed when we were about to enter.¬†The flickering lights added to the allure of eeriness. I was practically cling on to my hubby’s hand and desperately reminding myself to remember to look at the “ghosts”. Hahah, my earlier “ya ya-ness” had totally disappeared at this stage.

To me, this house¬†was¬†scary as these were all Asean ghosts. This was really close to heart.¬†Furthermore, it was often dimmed and dark rather than bright (I hate darkness). There were too¬†many cabinets and trap doors for the ghosts to hide in and sneaked out when the opportunity struck.¬†Along the way, there were many real “ghosts” standing motionless at 1 side, waiting for the opportunity to catch you unaware. In addition, there were also dolls added in to create certain amount of confusion and to lower down your guard.

Lucky for me, the “surprise attacks” were often after me. I guess either I was lucky or I really had that misleading “brave and unafraid” look. Hahah ¬†=X ¬† I have managed to escape unscathed. Phew!

After this house, my hubby and I had decided that it was time that we went home since we were feeling very tired. Our friends went ahead for the 2 other houses,  Mati Camp and The Lab, and the remaining scary zone, Scary Tales.

It was really a very fun and enjoyable night! My hubby and I were still buzzing with excitement when we were in the cab home. The only regret is that we are unable to complete all the houses and scary zones. We have already decided to opt for the express Queue ticket or the VIP group for HHN5.

Hehe, I can’t wait for HHN5 to arrive soon! =D

About Me

Hi,

A very big welcome to my personal blog.

This blog will relate things and events based on my encounters in life.

Perhaps, some background information about me… ¬†My name is Sierra. I am married. My hubby is often a thinker. In most situations, he does not allow himself to make a decision on impulse. As for me, I am his total opposite! Hahah, I guess this is what they call “opposites attract”! ¬†=p

Well, why the sudden decision of setting up this blog?¬†Hmmmm… One of the reasons is to allow me to brush up my writing skills for English language. I am seriously very lacking in this area. ~_~”’

Another pull factor is that I could record some of the details of the interesting events that we have encountered in our life. Perhaps, some accounts on difficulties / problems faced, recipes as well.

Since we are currently awaiting excitedly for the renovation of our new flat to commence, I guess I will start this blog with an account on sourcing of suitable renovation contractors / IDs. =)

Cheers,

Sierra
